About IP Address And How to know MY IP adress

An IP address (short for Internet Protocol address) is a unique numerical identifier assigned to devices connected to a computer network. It is used to identify and communicate with other devices on the network, allowing data to be sent and received between them.

There are two versions of IP addresses: IPv4 and IPv6. IPv4 addresses are 32-bit numbers, typically expressed in dotted decimal notation (e.g., 192.168.1.1). IPv6 addresses are 128-bit numbers, expressed in hexadecimal notation (e.g., 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334).

IP addresses are assigned by the network administrator or Internet Service Provider (ISP), and can be either static (unchanging) or dynamic (changing). They are essential for devices to communicate with each other over the internet and other networks.

To know your IP address, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser on your device.
  2. Go to a website that displays your IP address, such as "https://www.whatismyip.com/" or "https://www.whatismyip.net/".
  3. The website should automatically display your IP address. If it does not, you may need to click a button or link on the website to display your IP address.

Alternatively, you can also find your IP address by using the command prompt on Windows or the terminal on Mac or Linux. Here's how:

  1. Open the command prompt or terminal on your device.
  2. Type "ipconfig" (without quotes) and press Enter on Windows, or type "ifconfig" (without quotes) and press Enter on Mac or Linux.
  3. Your IP address should be listed under "IPv4 Address" or "inet addr" depending on your operating system.

Keep in mind that your IP address may change depending on your network setup, so you may need to check it periodically if you need to use it for a specific purpose.
